143 Srimath Anagarika Dharmapala Mawatha, Colombo 7 | Opening Hours: 10am – 8pm | 0112 307 005
Sells reasonably priced clothing for all. Great for cool, easy-wear clothing. They often sell seconds from The Gap, Next, M&S. You have to hunt a bit and labels are cut out, but it’s a good place to go. They’ve also got their own brand, Coco, and retail Kaveri, an Indian label that focuses on linen wear (dresses and clothing, this is high quality). The address above is their flagship store, but they’ve also got an outlet at Majestic City.

They describe themselves as “where a new Sri Lankan style, tailor made for the absolute now, meets the world.” We say this is a brilliant addition to the Colombo scene; they engage in a mix of online, and bricks and mortar retail, and fully embrace Sri Lankan designers, turning their island style into affordable, wearable fashion.
475/C Sri Jayawardenepura Mawatha, Rajagiriya | Opening Hours: 10am – 9pm (Open till 10pm on the weekends) | 0112 888 688
This is a family business which recently has been knocking out some really lovely designs. They’ve got 2 stores; we would recommend the one in Rajagiriya, which is 4 floors of fashion, but they’ve also got one on R. A. De Mel Mawatha in Colombo 4. You need to hunt; the sizes are not always geared to western figures, but this is absolutely worth going to as their prices are very affordable. Good for teenagers wanting fashion at affordable prices.
Colombo City Centre, 137 Sir James Pieris Mawatha, Colombo 02 | Opening Hours: 10am -10pm | 070 251 4811
Mango needs no real introduction. They’ve got a few outlets within Colombo, with their main one being at Colombo City Centre. Good selection of clothing, you just have to stop thinking about what it would cost in your own country!
546 Galle Rd, Colombo 3 | Opening Hours: 10am – 8pm | 0114 335 216
Excellent store for relatively good quality and affordable high street fashion that is easy to wear, and true to size. Good to follow on Instagram to see collections before you can visit the store. Their target market is young customers though, so it might not be for everyone.
